Home / About Us
The Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference is driven by a simple yet profound purpose: to develop a culture of making disciples that grows healthy churches, schools, and care homes that connect their communities to Jesus.
We are made up of over 40 vibrant congregations, three schools, and three care homes across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut. Our headquarters, located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, provides essential ministry and logistical support to our dedicated pastors, teachers, and a community of over 4,000 members.
Our role is to assist and guide congregations in the process of discipleship, which will improve the quality of life and well-being of communities.
As an affiliated conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we are part of a global ministry present in over 217 countries with over 22 million members worldwide. Our shared belief in the second coming of Jesus Christ unites us in our mission.
Our administrative team, consisting of the President, Secretary, and Treasurer, oversees and supports every aspect of our church, from local congregations to global divisions.
Our church comprises four distinct units that strengthen our faith community and promote our shared mission and vision. We strive to ensure that our faith community is inclusive and welcoming to all, regardless of their knowledge of our Conference or the structure of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Together, we build a loving, compassionate, and faithful community that brings meaningful value to society.
Develop a culture of making disciples that grows healthy churches, schools, and care homes that connect their communities to Jesus.
The Mission Strategic Framework (MSF) is a practical strategic framework developed by pastors and elders through a collaborative process and voted on by the Executive Committee.
The objective of the MSF is to equip and empower local churches, schools, and care homes with the necessary tools, training, and resources they need to develop a culture of making disciples and healthy environments for faith to grow in their specific communities.
The framework draws similarities between cultivating a disciple-making church and the cyclical rhythms of farming practices in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Both require calculated risks, patience, persistence, a deep understanding of growth processes, unwavering faith, and plenty of prayers.
Local church leaders and farmers prepare (community services), plant (friendship evangelism), care for and protect (Christ-centred Bible Studies), harvest (public evangelism) and eventually reap the benefits (spiritual gifts) that ultimately nourish and enrich the community.
The MSF uses the “agricultural method” of discipleship that Jesus taught.
This method sees discipleship as a process. Jesus told the story of the sower, in which the seed is God’s Word, and the soil is the heart of the hearers. He said that all people were like “fields” that were “ready for harvest.”
In consultation with Elder Ron and Patti Hetland of the Quill Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church and using Jesus’ harvest cycle as a guide, we adapted the harvest cycle to fit the Canadian farming model in five essential stages:
As Seventh-day Adventists, we believe the Bible is our faith’s sole foundation. Our worldwide community movement is rooted in the Protestant principle of Sola Scriptura, which asserts that the Bible is the ultimate guide for Christian beliefs and practice.
Our Beliefs:
Currently, Adventists hold 28 Fundamental Beliefs that can be organized into six categories:
Each category seeks to restore humanity’s relationship with God and inspire a life that reflects His love and grace. We strive to implement our beliefs to impact the broader community positively. Our aim is not just to talk about our beliefs but to actively make a significant difference in the communities we serve.
As Seventh-day Adventists, we are committed to enabling social change and fostering civil society development. Through our faith, we empower individuals, uplift communities, and improve the world.
We invite you to explore our beliefs, understand our values, and witness the impact we are making in our communities. Join us on this journey of faith, service, and community transformation.
Together, we can reflect God’s love in our communities.
