Healing Hearts Through Health Expo

The Spirit of Truth (SPoT) Seventh-day Adventist Church in Regina faced a challenging reality: The community grappled with health concerns and a noticeable disconnect between the church and the public. Three dedicated leaders – Bonnie Lust, David Ogram, and Juanie Quinto – recognized this as their call to action. Their mission? To bridge this gap through Christ’s method of mingling with people, showing sympathy, and ministering to their needs. The team faced its first hurdle: transforming a 2,400-square-foot room at Southland Shopping Center into a space that offered health and hope. They needed to recruit and train volunteers, set up

North Battleford Churches Mobilize to Aid La Ronge Evacuees

Over 200 evacuees recently arrived in North Battleford, fleeing from the devastating wildfires affecting La Ronge and surrounding areas. Among them, 170 were registered through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), while an additional 30 came under the care of the Red Cross. Recognizing the urgent needs of these displaced families, the mayor of North Battleford reached out to me and two other pastors for assistance. One of the immediate concerns was helping evacuees access clean clothing, so we contacted the Ministerial Association to discuss how we could respond effectively. Through the support of our churches, the Ministerial Association quickly

From Water Trauma to Waves of Change

On April 19, 2025, Victoria Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church in Saskatoon overflowed with people, not just people but with faith, courage, and transformation. Seven young people—Edward, Favour G., Blessing, Favour O., Mark, Thea, and Carl—publicly committed their lives to Christ in one of the most powerful baptism services the church has ever witnessed. One moment stood out: a young woman with a deep fear of water stepped into the baptismal pool and overcame her trauma by God’s grace! It was a visible victory of faith over fear. But this moment didn’t happen in isolation. It resulted from an intentional, authentic

The Purple Door: A Journey of Collective Faith & Service

In the small city of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, a seed was planted when James Folster, a Humboldt Seventh-day Adventist Church Group member, recognized a calling to serve his community. He began with a humble soup kitchen called “The Purple Door” – a ministry of warmth, fellowship, and support hosted in the local Anglican Church. In 2022, James and his wife, Hilda, organized a musical fundraiser for The Purple Door. Little did they know this event would become the catalyst for something great. Two ladies from the Quill Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, a small congregation of 25-28 weekly worshippers, attended that evening

200 Kilometres of Grace

Picture this: A warm July evening at the Regina International Airport. Joerlene stands alone at the terminal exit, two weathered suitcases at her feet, watching the sun slowly sink towards the horizon. Her destination, Estevan, lies 200 kilometres southeast – a daunting distance that might as well be a journey to the moon. With no public transit system in Estevan, no ride-sharing services willing to make the long trek, and not knowing a single soul in this vast prairie landscape, she faces a reality many newcomers to rural Canada encounter: isolation by distance. The Estevan Seventh-day Adventist Church understood a
