The Pinehouse Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church was full of excitement and expectation on February 5 for the installation of Pastor Gesklin as Lead Pastor and Pastor Waldemar as Associate Pastor.
Both pastors co-preached the sermon “Two is Better than One,” based on Amos 3:3 and Matthew 18:19.
After their sermon, the ministerial director of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference, Pastor Dave Baker, challenged the incoming pastors to fulfill their call to evangelism and discipleship.
The Installation Liturgy allowed church members to reaffirm their commitment to their church’s mission statement: “Anticipating Christ’s return, we exist to reach, relate, revive, and restore all through Christ’s love.”
Pastor Charles Ed II Aguilar, president of the Manitoba Saskatchewan Conference, built on the Liturgy by stating: “As we desire our pastors to fulfill the church’s mission, the sacred duty of pastoral placement is crucial. We are confident that God will use these two pastors to keep our church going with vigour and zeal.”
Elder Glyne Thompson, the first Elder of the SDA church on 327 Pinehouse Drive, added, “Pastors Gesklin and Waldemar serving alongside us is a tremendous honour. We have no doubt that the church will benefit greatly from their zeal and spiritual gifts.”
Christine Bergen, secretary/treasurer for the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference, concluded the Installation Liturgy with an inspiring prayer asking for God’s Spirit, wisdom, strength, and power for the two pastors.
As the service was coming to an end, the church’s Family Ministries department gave thoughtful gifts to show how much the pastors and their families have been welcomed into the Pinehouse Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church community.
The Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference is committed to providing quality pastoral leadership. It is committed to developing a culture of making disciples and healthy churches that help connect people in their communities to Jesus.
