The Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference acknowledges that its work, as well as the work of its churches and congregations, takes place in the traditional Indigenous territories of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut.

We acknowledge the treaties and agreements that cover Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut.

We are thankful to the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, who have cared for these lands since immemorial and continue contributing to the health of these lands and all communities in these territories. We are thankful to be able to live and worship God, the Creator of these lands.

It is an honour for the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference to collaborate with Indigenous church members, partners, and communities in these territories.

The Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church would also like to acknowledge that its regional office is located in Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional home of numerous Indigenous Peoples, including the Cree, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, Saulteaux, and Ojibwe and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

As a faith-based Christian organization, we are committed to the ministry of healing and reconciliation and acknowledge the wrongs and harms committed against Indigenous Peoples. We express our desire “to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

This acknowledgement reaffirms our treaty relationship with each other. We are all Treaty People.
